There really aren't enough exclamation points in the world for this kind of news. I am so crazy thrilled to announce that we have officially been chosen to parent two little girls! I'll give you a minute to catch your breath. I know it's taken me about a week to catch mine.
I'll refer to them here on the blog and social media as "J" and "V." J is a year and a half old, and V is 3. They are biological sisters and the youngest of a larger sibling set, all in their elderly grandmother's care currently. Their other siblings will be placed with other adoptive families within our agency. We're already getting to know the other two couples, and are excited about keeping the siblings in close contact with each other and their grandma. While we know that will come with it's challenges, we are excited to gain this instant bonus family, and know it will be so great for our daughters. Did you catch that? Just wrote the phrase "our daughters." Still can't believe it.
It's been a crazy few weeks. We haven't met the girls yet, but we did have a meeting where we got detailed info about them and saw pictures. We will most likely get to meet them for the first time this week, and then the transition process begins to bring them home! We unfortunately can't share any pictures of their faces online until the adoption is finalized down the road, but believe me, they're precious! So much has happened in the past few weeks, and I am so excited to finally get back to blogging and be able to share it with you all. I'm working on a blog series to share the story of how this all came to be and what's next over a few posts, so be sure to check back later this week.
If you want to hear more, I also announced the good news and chatted with Kelsey about it in a special mini episode of The Girl Next Door Podcast!
