Kelsey and I are great friends, and she is quite literally "the girl next door." The universe plopped us right next to each other as neighbors, and boy did that universe know what it was doing! We have bonded over blogging, lamenting the lack of seasons in the Arizona desert, and even sharing the same birthday.
So fate plus some frustration have led us to a new joint effort. We both love photography and documenting our everyday lives, but have felt disappointed with our current skill level. We’re determined to conquer DSLR photography once and for all, so Kelsey’s brilliant idea was to create a monthly photo challenge for ourselves. We’re dusting off our trusty DSLR’s, switching them to manual mode, and not looking back. Maybe you’ve felt like we do, so we want to share the results with you no matter how disastrous. It will give us some incentive to take our cameras off of automatic and learn how to use all of those features that we paid for. The one rule is to shoot only in manual, and we will each post our favorite picture every month, along with a little bit about what we’ve learned along the way. So our hope is that after months of forcing ourselves to take risks and experiment, something will click!
